NORTH WALES CRUSADERS can confirm two more pre-season friendlies, with West Wales Raiders and a Saint Helens select side to visit the Queensway Stadium as preparations for the 2018 season continue.
Mike Grady’s side will have a total of three pre-season friendlies, starting on Sunday 21st January when they visit the Crown Oil Arena to take on Championship side Rochdale Hornets.
A week later, rugby league will return to Wrexham when West Wales Raiders visit the Queensway Stadium to contest a pre-season Welsh derby.
The final friendly will see North Wales Crusaders host Super League outfit Saint Helens on Sunday 4th February.
Admission prices for the home friendlies will be £10 adults, £7 concessions, £3 under 16’s and free for under 5’s.
On the pre-season schedule, CEO Andy Moulsdale said: “From a playing side I think that it will give Mike a chance to look at everyone and judge where the lads are up to.
“They will be three tough games. Rochdale are obviously a Championship side with a number of ex-players from both clubs coming up against their old sides.
“West Wales Raiders have recruited well and the fixture is also a derby, and then in the Saint Helens game you’ve got lads who are looking for Super League contracts and futures in the game.”
He added: “I also felt that from a fans point of view it was important to keep fixtures local / at home.
“We’ve struggled in recent years with not having an established home, and we’ve always had to play friendlies away which isn’t great for fans -especially this time of year.
“Hopefully it will start the season in a positive manor for everyone.”
